Entering General Ledger Transactions (Journal Entries)

Polygon Back Office automatically creates the appropriate accounting transactions when you enter Supplier, Client, Payroll, Stock or Bank transactions.  As a result, you will seldom need to enter journal entries, however if you do, do so with extreme care.

It should be noted that you cannot create journal entries in relation to the Bank Accounts File or the Virtual Safe.  These Accounts are governed by automatically generated ledger transactions ONLY.  If you need to enter ledger transactions which concern these accounts they MUST be entered via the Bank Accounts or Virtual Safe transaction interface.

Journal Entries

A journal entry is one which allows you to enter multiple debits and multiple credits to achieve a balanced transaction.
