The RedCat POS system is easy to use and has removed many of the more difficult tasks which you may have previously encountered with POS systems. RedCat has gone to considerable lengths to limit the need for users to carry out complex processing when setting up or using the POS system. This manual is designed to assist the user to understand the RedCat POS software and to use the POS system correctly. It will explain the major features and functions of the system and will provide examples for many of the functions.

Prior to installation, check that your computer equipment meets the following recommended minimum configuration:
•IBM Compatible PC (1GHz processor minimum)
•512 Mb RAM
•VGA monitor
•200 Mb free disk space for applications
•7.0 Mb additional free disk space for data per year
•POS Terminal Operating System, Windows XP Professional or Windows POS Ready 2009
•Back of House Operating System, Windows XP Professional, Windows POS 2009, Windows Vista Professional or Windows 7 Professional
•Bubble Jet or Laser printer.
Please note: This software is designed to display to best effect on a monitor set at 1024 x 768 resolution with the Windows taskbar hidden.

The installation of POS Management and Polygon Back Office is performed by authorised Redcat Distributors. This ensures that the system is correctly installed and functions correctly on your computer. The software will be registered specifically for use on the computer on which it is installed. If you replace your computer, contact Redcat support staff who will arrange for the re-installation of your software on your replacement computer.
Your distributor will provide initial training at the time of installation. Additional training and refresher courses, both external and on-site, are available in all states according to your requirements, at affordable rates. Your purchase of Red Cat Systems software licenses you to use the program only on the computer on which it was installed by your Red Cat Distributor. The software is copyright protected and use of unlicensed Red Cat software by persons and organisations is a breach of copyright. Successful convictions for breaches of copyright may result in severe penalties to both individuals and organisations.

The Front of House (FOH) refers to the point of sale area where sales transactions take place. Using terminals at the FOH you can take orders, accept payments, generate reports and manage staff clock on/off times.

Polygon Back Office is allows access to financial modules of Redcat Polygon. It has been written by experts in the hospitality industry and is based on many years of practical experience. We have written this User Guide with you in mind by avoiding computer jargon wherever possible. Polygon Back Office is a comprehensive accounting and financial reporting package.

Telephone support is available for clients with a valid Support and Maintenance Contract. The annual contract also entitles clients to all software updates and new releases available within that time.
Support and Maintenance Contract
RedCat offers two Support and Maintenance Contracts:
Base Support:
Telephone support is available Monday to Friday on 1300 4REDCAT (1300 4733228) between:
9.00 am and 5.00 p.m. AEST (AESST) on business days.
The Support and Maintenance contract provides you with Red Cat software upgrades containing both technical enhancements and other improvements, many of which are the result of client requests and suggestions. Check with the Red Cat office or your Distributor for further details of the agreement.
Extended Support:
The Extended Support contract, which is in addition to the Base contract provides access to the RedCat Help Desk for the extra hours of 8.00am – 9.00am and 5.00pm – 10.00pm Monday to Friday, and 8.00am – 10.00pm weekends and public holidays (excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day). A PIN number is provided to clients with this contract to access the After Hours HelpDesk.

Should you require a report which is not included as a standard report, we may be able to develop a custom report to suit your requirements. We do our best to minimise the cost of customised reports.
