Virtual Brands is a licensed module which allows companies and entities operating multiple brands (some of which may only have a virtual presence) to:
•Utilise one Polygon POS Management databases for programming including the publishing of web menus for Polygon Customer Ordering and third party web ordering providers, and
•Pass online orders for multiple brands to one specific POS for fulfilment.
A record must be created for each Brand to be utilised in the database and these brands are then assigned to POS Locations and Product Keypads as appropriate. To enter the Brands in Polygon POS Management: •Choose Products | Brands from the main menu. •Use the New button to create a new Brand record. •Enter the Brand Name and mark the Brand as Active. •Enter the path to the Image File that will be used as the brand icon. •Use the OK button to save the record.

Applying a sort order to the Brands listed in the Brands File will determine the order in which they are displayed for the customer in online ordering (applicable to web, app and kiosk versions OLO 3 and later). To order the Brands: •Highlight the required Brand •Use the Move Up and/or Move Down sort order buttons until the Brand sits in the desired place in the list.

Each POS Location should now be assigned a Brand. This allows Polygon Central to determine when an online order arrives for the location which Brand ID to stamp it with. All items in the sale will be stamped with the same Brand ID. If a location is a virtual brand (there is no physical restaurant), the location is also mapped to the location that contains the physical POS to which this order will be directed. In this way, the order can be stamped with the correct Brand ID, and print for fulfilment at POS in the correct location. To do this: •Access the POS Location from within the POS Network File. •On the General tab, use the pick list button on the Brand Name field to select the relevant brand name from the Brands File.

If the location is a virtual location (no physical POS installation) in addition to selecting the Brand Name: •Ensure the Virtual Location tag is enabled. •Choose from the Target Physical Location pick list the location to which orders for this virtual location will be directed.

As the POS will stamp the Brand ID for each item sold according to the active keypad at the time, each keypad should be assigned a relevant brand. If POS staff need to be able to record a single sale with multiple brands included, it is recommended that the POS keypads be structured in such a way that there is just one product keypad per brand containing that brand's full menu offering, if possible. To do this: •Access the Product Keypads button from the main menu.Select the relevant keypad and choose the Change button. •On the Product Keypad Update Form, use the pick list button on the Brand Name field to select the relevant brand name from the Brands File.

Staff using the POS can move between the keypad for each brand as applicable. Each item sold at the POS will be stamped with the relevant brand and this occurs according to the keypad that is active at the POS at the time the item is entered. In this way a sale may be entered that contains items only for one brand, or the sale may contain items for a mix of brands. Production printing/display will still occur according to category assignment to specific devices. There is no special or extra addition on production dockets or KMS devices which denotes branding. If staff need to differentiate between similar items for brands this will need to be addressed within the product name. Items to note: Bundles: If items are chosen from multiple keypads which comprise a bundle, the bundle PLU will be recorded with the Brand applicable to the keypad that is active at the time the bundle is triggered. QSO Items: If a QSO item is entered, stamped with a brand and subsequently edited while the keypad for another brand is active, the items will retain the stamp of the original brand. |
