Promo Player Playlist File

The Promo Player Playlist File allows you to change which Promo Player content will be displayed and when it will be displayed.

From Polygon POS Management,

Select Products from the main menu, then select Promo Player Playlist

(Note: If the Promo Player menu item is not available, see the section Promo Player - General Information for more information about enabling the Promo Player)

The Promo Player Item Details form allows users to add new content items, modify existing content items or remove existing content items using the buttons to the right of the form.

•To Create a New Playlist Item - Click on the New button, or highlight an existing Content Item and click the New From button. This will display the Promo Player Item Details form where the new content item can be configured.

Handy Hint: The New From button allows you to create a new playlist item based on an existing playlist item, the new playlist item can then be adjusted as needed rather than created from scratch. To do this highlight a playlist item and then click the New From button. The new playlist item will be displayed on the Promo Player Item Details form where it can be configured and saved.

•To Modify an Existing Playlist Item - Double click on the playlist item, or highlight the playlist item and then click on the Change button. This will display the Promo Player Item Details form where changes can be made.

•To Delete an Existing Playlist Item - Highlight the playlist item and then click on the Delete button.

•To Refresh the Playlist Items List - Click the Reload button. This button is useful if you have a multi-user license where more than one user can access Polygon Back Office at a time. Clicking this button to updates the list with any changes made by other users such as newly created or recently deleted items.

•To Print a List from the Promo Player Playlist File - Click on the Print List button, this will generate a report showing the content items which are currently listed on the Promo Player Playlist File. This report can be saved or printed.

Promo Player Playlist File displays details about playlist items which have been previously configured. The following information is displayed for each Playlist item.

Note: Some of the details listed on this form are only configurable when the Advanced Promo Player module has been purchased. Columns which only apply to the Advanced Promo Player are shown with a red asterisk *

•Play Mode - The Playmode column identifies when content will be displayed at the FOH. This can be:

oLoyalty - When a customer ordering being recorded and a loyalty card has been scanned or swiped

•Stretch - Indicates whether the playlist item will be stretched to fit the Promo Player's screen area

•Campaign Schedule Start Date * - Identifies the beginning date of the period when this content will be available for display (Advanced Promo Player Only)

•Campaign Schedule End Date * - Identifies the end date of the period when this content will be available for display (Advanced Promo Player Only)

•Play Time * - Displays the period of time when a playlist item will be available for display. The playlist item will not be displayed outside of this period.

•Delay - How many seconds this playlist item will be displayed for before the next item from this play mode will be displayed. For the Basic Promo Player this is always 10 seconds. For the Advanced Promo Player this can be from 1 second to 60 seconds.

•Days of the week (S, M, T, W, T, F, S) * - If the Promo Player Item has been configured to be displayed only on certain days of the week (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday etc) a tick will be shown for the days when the content will be displayed. If no ticks are shown, the content will not be restricted by the day of the week. (Advanced Promo Player Only)

•Filtering Promo Player Items * - The promo player items list can be filtered so that only current, future or expired items are listed. To do this, make a selection from the Show drop down list-box at the top left of the form.

•To Search for a Promo Player Item - Type part of, or all of the Content Name into the Find text box.

•Wallpaper Images - Wallpaper images are shown behind all other content and are only visible when the other content doesn't fill the entire screen. Wallpaper content can be shown or hidden by clicking the "Show wallpaper images" tickbox at the top of the form.

The order which content player items are displayed in can be changed by ticking the "Set/show content items in playlist order" tickbox. When this tickbox is ticked the Move Up and Move Down buttons will become available. Highlighting an item and clicking the Move Up button will make the selected item appear earlier in the play order for the assigned play mode. Alternately, clicking highlighting an item and clicking the Move Down button will make the selected item appear later in the play order for the assigned play mode.
