Device Type

This option is only changeable when creating new peripherals.  Select Customer Display here.

Enabled

This setting will automatically be selected and should only be removed if a peripheral is temporarily out of use.

Local/Remote Assignment

Indicates if this Customer Display is attached to this POS Terminal (local) or another POS Terminal (network).
This field is not enabled until the Device Provider is selected

- a Redcat device can only have a local assignment

- a third party device may be either local or network.

If a Network assignment is chosen, select the required Customer Display from the list of all Customer Displays available on the POS Network.

Device Name

Enter a unique name to identify this Customer Display.  If more than one Customer Display is programmed for this POS terminal, POS staff will be prompted to choose the relevant Customer Display for the sale they are entering, therefore the name should be meaningful. For example, if the POS staff need to differentiate between Customer Ordering Displays on two drive through lanes and the local display on the POS, they could be called Lane 1, Lane 2, and POS Display.

Device Provider

Select the device provider from the drop-down list.

- if you choose Redcat, the device will be assigned as a local device and will be physically attached to the POS Terminal.

- if you choose a third-party provider you will need to manually choose the required Local/Remote Assignment setting.

Both options will require further configuration as described below:

Device Provider - Redcat

If Redcat is selected as the device provider you will also need to complete:

Local Display Profile: the drop-down list will show the Customer Facing Displays programmed in Polygon Central.

Target Display Number:  choose the monitor number that the Customer Facing Display is to use.

Device Provider - Fusion

If Fusion is selected as the device provider you may also need to complete:

External COD ID: This is the 6 character identifier for the Customer Ordering Display as provided by Fusion and is a required field.  It must be unique in this POS Location.

Lane ID:  If a Sensor Dynamics number plate recognition camera is provided as part of the Fusion Customer Ordering Display, enter the Lane ID provided by Sensor Dynamics.  If entered, the Lane ID must be unique.  Please note: the Lane ID is used for passing license plate data via API and therefore must not contain the / character.

Device Provider - Hendricks

The Hendricks peripheral does not have a corresponding physical unit.  It is used solely to facilitate communication with the Hendricks Drive-Through integration and no futher configuration is required.

Enable Web Descriptions

This setting should be enabled if you want the name of the PLU programmed for online ordering to be displayed for the customer instead of the PLU name shown at the POS.  This ensures that your customers see that they have ordered a 'Grilled Chicken Burger' instead of a 'Gr Chick Burg'.
