Some PDE devices (Portable Data Entry Devices) support barcode scanning which can make the stocktake process more efficient. Barcodes are associated with Stock Items by entering the Barcode and Description in the Stock Item Barcodes File. Later, a list of barcodes from the Barcodes File can be uploaded to a PDE Device. See section Using PDE Devices for more information about using PDE Devices.
Note: Barcodes entered on this Stock Item Barcodes File are not used POS sales. Barcodes which are scanned when selling items at POS are entered for PLU Items from the Polygon POS Management > PLU Item Details form.
From Polygon Back Office, Access the Stock Items File by clicking the Stock Items button on the toolbar, Click the New button to create a new Stock Item, or, Highlight an existing Stock Item and click the Change button to modify this stock item. The Stock Items Details form will be displayed. From the Stock Control Tab, click the Supplier Codes button.

The Stock Item Barcodes File will be displayed. The following options are available:.
•Adding Barcodes - To add a Barcode, type the barcode number into the column on the left, then type a description for the bar code into the column on the right then. Repeat this process if the item has multiple Barcodes. Click OK to save this list.
•Removing Barcodes - To Delete a Barcode, select the row of the barcode you wish to remove, then click the Delete Row button. Click the OK button to save this change.
•Printing Barcodes List - Click the Print List button, to generate a PDF report containing the current list of barcodes and descriptions.
