Redirecting dockets from one printer to another may be desirable at certain time of the day, for instance over the busy lunch period there may be two staff members each operating at a ‘make bench’ and different POS terminals are sending production dockets to one or other of the benches. Later in the afternoon when there is only one make bench in operation the dockets which would usually go to the second bench can be redirected to print at the first bench.
Important Notes
Printer Redirection is set up on a per-terminal basis. Enabling redirection on one POS terminal will not apply the change to all terminals Printer Redirection can only be set up by a user who has ‘Reset Master Terminal’ privileges. The Toggle function can be used by all staff.
This will program the redirection to be applied.
•Return to the Staff log on page •Choose the System Settings button on the toolbar •Select Printing •Press Printer Redirection Set Up button, enter your password. Note: You must have the user privilege to Reset the Master Terminal to access this function. (See Section Polygon POS Management > POS Staff Accounts > POS Staff Details) •From This Terminal Printers list, highlight the Source printer you want to redirection FROM •From Target Printers list, highlight the Target printer you want to redirect TO •Press the Add button; your selection will appear under Redirected Printers
•Press ‘OK’ to save •Press ‘OK’ and RedCat will close automatically •The redirection will apply on this terminal when Redcat is re-opened. Printer redirections are created on a terminal by terminal basis. This means if more than one terminal's printing needs to be re-directed, each terminal must be configured individually.

Go to the System Settings •Select the Printing category at the left of the window •Press Printer Redirection Set Up •Under Redirected Printers highlight the redirection that you want to make available on the Staff Log On page for toggling •Press Set Toggle Redirection button •Read the set up prompt; if it is correct, press Yes to confirm •Press OK to save •The POS Terminal software will close and the toggle will become available from the logon screen when the software is reopened.

If toggle buttons have been enabled (See above paragraph - How to Enable Toggle Buttons), the Staff Log On page will show two buttons in the bottom left hand corner, the Default Printer and the assigned Redirected Printer.
Default printer: eg “Bar/Receipt” – this button will display as normal grey colour when pressed, this indicates that redirection is not in active mode.
Redirected printer: eg “Waiter/Receipt” – this button will display in RED when pressed, this indicates that the redirection is in active mode.
Definitions The following definitions apply when programming printer redirection. Default Printer – Is the printer (or printers) that a terminal normally sends its production dockets and receipts to, as per the original hardware setup. Source Printer – is one of the default printers, that is selected to have its jobs redirected from. Target Printer – is one of any of the printers installed on the network, which is selected to have jobs redirected to.
