POS Area Master Terminal
This can only be done once you have setup your POS Terminals (see section POS Network > POS Terminals for instructions explaining how to create POS terminals). This identifies which POS Terminal will be considered the master terminal of this POS Area (see section POS Terminal Redundancy & Recovery for definition of master-slave/s relationship)
Master Terminal Back Up Type
The FOH allows for the backup of sales data which can be restored in the case of failure of the master terminal. IMPORATANT: If your system has two or more terminals you should choose to back up the files of the master terminal to the hard disk of another terminal. Select Network backup to specify that the next terminal in the POS Hardware hierarchy that resides on this network will receive the backup file from the master terminal.
Three backup options are available:
•None
Selecting this option disables FOH backups for this area
•Local backup
If your system has only one terminal, you may set the back-up mode to ‘Local Only’, which will enable a periodic back up copy of the Redcat directory on the local C:/ drive of the terminal.
•Network backup
If your system has two or more terminals you should choose to back up the files of the master terminal to the hard disk of another terminal. Selecting this option specifies that the next terminal in the POS hardware hierarchy that resides on this network will receive the back up file from the master terminal.

This facility also allows each terminal to control two cash drawers if desired. If you wish to utilise Cash Drawer Management in this POS Area, place a tick in the Enable Cash Drawer Management box. If this tick box is unavailable it can be enabled by going to Global Settings > Z-Read and ticking the Enable Cash Drawer Management(Dual Cash Drawers) tick box.
